A: Immunohistochemistry for MMP-1 revealed cytoplasmic staining in motoneurons; the nucleus was devoid of immunoreactivity. B: Staining for MMP-9 demonstrated a single intravascular monocyte (arrow) within a parenchymal blood vessel. C: The TIMP-2 antibody displayed cytoplasmic immunoreactivity in motoneurons, the nucleus being devoid of staining.
