Aβ and tau imaging with FBB (top) and THK-5351 (bottom) of our 59 year old patient with Alzheimer’s disease. FBB and THK-5351 binding patterns demonstrate the different distributions of Aβ and tau deposits in the brain of our Alzheimer’s disease patient. FBB-PET scan revealed a massive global amyloid load with a pronounced FBB retention in parietotemporal, frontal and posterior cingulate/precuneal cortices. In contrast THK-5351 retention was markedly elevated in the hippocampus, whereas onlya slightly increased THK-5351 retention was observed in parietotemporal cortical areas
