Expression of junctional molecules after brain ischemia is influenced by VE-cadherin (a-d) mRNA expression of key junctional molecules occludin, claudin-5, α-catenin and β-catenin was assessed in ischemic brain tissue of wildtype and VE-cadherin heterozygous mice after 30 min MCAo/reperfusion or sham operation. Relative mRNA expression is described as the value normalized to tripeptidyl peptidase 2 (Tpp2) for each sample. N = 3-6 animals per group.
