Receiver operating characteristic curves for prediction of poor outcomes using CRP and its modification. The area under the curve of CRPMax (C-statistic: 0.778, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.698–0.846) was greater than that of CRPday1 or clearance of CRP (CRPc) in all patients (P = 0.007, P < 0.001, respectively) (a). The C-statistic of CRPMax in patients without surgical clipping (C-statistic: 0.856, 95% CI: 0.767–0.921) was greater than that of all SAH patients (b). However, the performance of CRPMax in patients with clipping (C-statistic: 0.562, 95% CI: 0.399–0.716) was very poor (c).
