From: Encephalopathy following ingestion of Lead-contaminated opium; magnetic resonance imaging findings
(Case 1): On admission MRI: MRI shows bilateral symmetric involvement of two areas in parasagittal parietal and occipital lobes. Gray matter, gray white matter junction, and the subcortical white matter are involved. The lesions are bright on T2-weighted and FLAIR images and hypointense on T1-weighted images. No evidence of diffusion restriction is noted. Follow-up MRI: Lesions completely resolved on the repeat MRI without chelation therapy
