From: Sex differences underlying orofacial varicella zoster associated pain in rats
Gabapentin relieves the VZV induced aversive response. The PEAP test was assessed at 7 days post infection in rats whose whisker pad was injected with either MeWo cells or MeWo cells infected with a low dose of VZV (360 pfu/ μl). An asterisk indicates a significant difference between the VZV pOka/vehicle group and the VZV pOka/gabapentin group, as well as, a significant difference between the Mewo/vehicle group and the pOka/vehicle group. There were 5 animals per treatment group
