Probability (%) of achieving dexterity (ARAT ≥10 points) at 6 months post stroke (N = 102) starting in the first week post stroke. Based on the Fugl Meyer scores of the flaccid arm, optimal prediction of arm function outcome at 6 months could be made within 4 weeks after onset. Patients with a favorable prognosis are presented with a red line, whereas lack of voluntary motor control of the leg in the first week with no emergence of arm synergies within 4 weeks post stroke was associated with poor outcome at 6 months (green line, [5, 10]).
