  2. mRS = modified Rankin Scale. Ordinal score comprises distinguishable categories 0–2, 3, 4, 5 and, if deceased patients are included, also category 6. Correspondingly, dichotomous indicator comprises categories 0–2 as control subjects and category 3 or above as cases.
